Why do I need a Patch Test?
Doing a patch test, is a simple way of understanding whether a setting is right or too high or too low. If the setting is too low, then your treatment will not be effective. If it is too high, then you could have an adverse reaction.
Ultimately your safety is paramount. We want you to feel confident having the treatment. So doing a patch test is the simplest way of finding out the best setting to achieve the best results with your chosen treatment, therefore providing you with the best value for money.
Will PicoSure work if I've already had many sessions with a Q-switched laser.
Thus far we have had very good results with recalcitrant or resistant tattoos and tattoos that have reached a plateau.
Some patients who had 20 sessions with Q-switch, have seen results after just one treatment with PicoSure.
Will the treatment hurt?
Our clients have said they feel a slight stinging sensation while the laser flashes over the tattoo. This stinging is more comfortable than actually having a tattoo.
Does PicoSure feel different to Q-switch laser?
One of our clients who had 15 sessions with Q-swich said that PicoSure had significant difference when compared

Do you use anaesthetic?
We use the Zimmer cooler before and during the treatment and find patients are most comfortable with this method.
How many sessions will I need?
It’s rare that a tattoo is completely removed after one session. Amateur tattoos might take 2-3 sessions to remove. Most professional tattoos clear after approximately 6 sessions with PicoSure, compared to 15 sessions with older Q-switched lasers.
Why is PicoSure more expensive than other laser treatments?
PicoSure breaks down your tattoo ink into the tiniest of particles. This means more ink is broken down in one treatment session, which leads to greater clearance and thus fewer appointments. Once the ink is gone, its gone.
What will my skin look like after my tattoo removal?
Your skin will have a frosty look after the laser went over your tattoo. You will see fading over the following weeks.
How will my skin heal?
Your body is programmed to self-heal. You will find the area scabbing over as it heals. Sometimes you can have blistering, which is part of the healing process.
Do I need to use an antiseptic cream or ointment after my treatment?
You don’t need antiseptic cream or ointment as your skin stays in tact with PicoSure. We provide full after care instructions on how to look after your skin to aid the best possible healing.
Can PicoSure be used on all skin types for tattoo removal?
Picosure is not suitable tattoo removal for skin types V & VI, which represents dark brown & black skin types.
How soon can I have my next session?
We recommend 6-8 weeks in between treatments to get the full benefit of each treatment session.
Can I just have a section of a tattoo removed or faded for a cover up?
Absolutely!! We only remove the ink you want us to remove. Its your choice.
Can PicoSure remove Semi-permanent or permanent make up?
No. There is a good chance that the area will turn black with laser treatment.
